Bruce received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2022 for his extensive service to cricket. He is an experienced Representative (Level 2)
accredited coach who established a not-for-profit Coaches’ Association (HKHDCCA) in 2010. He has taken three U/15 Boys rep. teams on cricket tours to India in 2006, 2019 & 2023, and has organised an U/17 Girls tour to
India in April 2024.

 

Bruce is a NSWCUSA Level 2 qualified umpire who has officiated in 750 matches since 2001-02. He was recognised by Cricket Australia as the Community Match Official of the Year at the national ‘A Sport For All’ Awards in 2020. He is a respected Life Member of four cricket bodies – HKHDCA; Barker CC; Coaches’ Association; Normanhurst-Warrawee CC.

Dave played Grade Cricket with St George DCC and Randwick DCC from 1986 – 1994, before embarking on a 25+ year coaching career. He became a Cricket Australia Representative (Level 2) accredited coach in 2015 and
was the Female Head Coach, Penrith CC from 2017 – 2021, and President, Penrith Junior Cricket Association from 2017 – 2019. Dave was President, Springwood CC from 2010 – 2020 and was inducted as a Life Member.


He developed Penrith Women’s CC to become a powerhouse club in the West of Sydney and achieved an inaugural First Grade premiership in 2022-23. He won the Cricket NSW Volunteer Administrator of the Year in 2017,
and Cricket NSW Volunteer Coach of the Year in 2018 (Sport NSW Awards).

Vipin moved from Delhi, India, to Australia in 2003 and he works for the NSW Department of Customer Service as a Solution Architect. His family has a passion for cricket – both his sons love the game and have been coached by
Bruce Wood (and others) at the Coaches’ Association’s popular junior cricket clinics in the school holidays.

 

Vipin plays C3 (or C2) Grade senior cricket for West Pennant Hill Cherrybrook CC and took a couple of 5/fors in the 2022-23 season. Vipin gets inspired when he sees cricket being played and is keen to help out AIWCA as Secretary and in any other way possible.

Abhi played cricket in India at a District level and is now back involved in the game as his talented daughter is doing well in cricket. He works professionally as a Project and Program Manager with a wide network in Australia and overseas. Abhi is heavily involved at committee levels in cricket, including the SCA Women’s Cricket and Northern District CC.

 

He is passionate about cricket and is happy to help the new AIWCA Executive Committee with financial management and in other capacities, as required.

Ron became an ICC High Performance (Level 3) accredited coach in Dubai in 2019 and he has coached Women’s Cricket for 20+ years at Parramatta DCC, Penrith CC, North West Hurricanes CC, Cricket NSW, Northern District
CC, Perth, Malaysia and Ireland. He played in the First Grade squad at Sturt CC in Adelaide at the age of 18, before joining the Army, where he played cricket for the Australian Defence Force team for 15 years.

 

Ron has coached at least 7 elite female players, including Kate Peterson, a pace bowler who plays First Grade Premier Cricket and WBBL in Adelaide; and Phoebe Litchfield, a lefthanded batter who is a current Australian Test, ODI
and T20 player.

Mala was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2006 for service to the community through establishing the Hindi School in 1987, fostering interest in Indian culture, and providing assistance to new migrants. President / Honorary Founder / Hindi Teacher – IABBV Hindi School Inc. Committee Member – Modern Languages Teachers Association (MLTA). Chair & Founding Board Member –  Women’s Shed Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Inc. Committee Member – Police and Community Youth Club (PCYC).


Mala is pleased to be a member of the AIWCA Executive Committee to help build important connections through her extensive network in the Indian
community in Australia and India.

Michelle is a former Australian cricketer who played for the national team from 1997 to 2006. Gozzy was an outstanding prospect for NSW at junior level as
an all-rounder, and took 6/9 in her NSW U/21 debut as a 17 year-old in 1994-95. She is best known for scoring a double-century on her Test debut against England in 2001, equalling the world record for the highest individual Test
score (204) at the time. She also played 34 one-day internationals and one T20 international for Australia.

 

After retiring from playing, she became a coach, a commentator, and a Director of women’s cricket at North Sydney CC. She was named a Life Member of Cricket NSW in 2021.

Sue is a NSWCUSA Panel 1 Women's umpire who has regularly umpired NSW Premier Cricket Men's Second Grade and rep. matches. She was captain of her high school’s 1st XI Girls team (wicket keeper / LH batter), and
played in the CGSSA girls rep. teams, as well as women's grade cricket for Ku-ring-gai CC (which later merged with Gordon CC).

 

She was elected as the Training Officer for the Sydney Women's Cricket Umpires’ Association, and has conducted Level 2 cricket laws courses for NSWCUSA on a voluntary basis for two years.

 

Sue has three daughters and is passionate about female sport and Girls Cricket in particular. She is on the management team (and will umpire) on the HKHDCCA / AIWCA / NDCC U/17 Girls tour to India in April 2024.
